I just moved into a new office in Westmeath and decided to go with UPC. We've got a 20MB line and I am very impressed with speeds. I've done a few speed tests and am getting about 19554kbs which is pretty much on the mark. Quick installation, great customer service, and overall I can't fault these guys.

Does anyone expect any broadband connection in Ireland to be as advertised? I don't. This is the failure of the government to ensure fast reliable broadband in Ireland. 6 meg is all most people can get on DSL through Eircom lines and is likely the max people will get for several years. Comreg seem only interested in protecting the rights of big isp's rather than consumers! As long as isp's are allowed to advertise "up to" speeds, that is a license for them to offer any crap speed they can get away with and it will never change without intervention, on a government level!

I've been told by friends living in Sligo that the Wimax is not good. This does not sound very promising for Sligo to start with.
