Dude - thanks for this. I was trying to figure out how to disable some of the wp-specific features, like the "kitchen sink" button and the "insert more" button, but wasn't sure how to label them in theme_advanced_disable list because the TinyMCE wiki doesn't list them. Turns out, if you view the dashboard and mouseover each button, a tooltip will pop up saying something like *.label_desc, where 'label' is the information you'll need. For instance, if you rollover the kitchen sink button it shows up as 'advanced.wp_adv_desc'. To remove that button, add 'wp_adv' to the theme_advanced_disabled list. Hope this helps save someone some time!

Thanks for the info Eoghan. This discussion on Vodafone's tethering policy might also be of interest too. It looks like both O2 and Vodafone have an additional charge for tethering but if you're on one of O2's older plans you don't get hit.

Since this is one of the highest ranking google hits for anyone looking at getting an iPhone in Ireland, it's worth mentioning that the comparisons above are no longer valid.

O2 have recently substantially improved their iPhone packages. For a start, they have removed their data cap, so that now [subject to fair use blah blah] the iPhone has unlimited data. It also costs less upfront, and the monthly talk/text bundles are very similar.

I've been told by friends living in Sligo that the Wimax is not good. This does not sound very promising for Sligo to start with.
